History of Diederik Van Apple
Diederik was born in a Leiden, which is a city in the Dutch province of South Holland. As a child he spent a lot of his time engrossed in Disney books and some of the big classic movies, including Pulp Fiction and Scarface. He saw the bigger picture and could visualise himself within the story lines and becoming a part of the movies or books.
Education & Early Career
He always had a key interest in expressing his creativity and in 2003 he decided to stop his study within law to pursue his passion for creativity. In 2006 he began working as an Art Representative for an Art Gallery in Amsterdam. Whilst working in this role he began to travel the world participating in exhibitions and art fairs.
Art Style
He works in a combination of mediums, including media, photographs, aluminium and diamonds, as well as many more elements. All artworks are finished by hand with several layers of epoxy. By adding these layers he is able to create innovative and unique mix-media art with a fantastic 3D effect.
First Digital Collection
In 2017 Diederik launched his first collection of digital mixed media artworks, flights of fancy which combined pop culture, imagination and his personal passion for colourful communication. Response from collectors was overwhelming, this followed with a series of limited editions. His art created a huge stir and sold out immediately. In a remarkably short time he had established himself as a creative force to be reckoned with on the European contemporary art scene.
Investment Art Work
His work has been shown in all over Europe as well as in the Middle East and the USA. Rapid growing Interest in his unique oeuvre is growing worldwide, and he has become known as an intriguing prospect for investment.
