I’d rather a beautiful fiction than an unremarkable truth (Hand Coloured) by The Connor Brothers

‘I’d rather a beautiful fiction than an unremarkable truth’- is an original Connor Brothers quotation.

We link this back to the golden thread of truth vs fiction shown here in very plain English. You have notions of beauty, being unremarkable and beauty vs something which is boring. All of these themes are a true representation of the Connor Brothers. The original of this piece featured in the show ‘Hot off the press ‘in collaboration with Bonhams back in April and sold at Auction for a substantial figure. All of the proceeds from the sales of the artwork went to The Teenage Cancer Trust. The Connor Brothers do a lot of charity work and highlight causes which are close to their hearts.

The silkscreen print is framed in a dark wood frame and glass front. This is an exquisite hand coloured limited edition.

About The Connor Brothers

The Connor Brothers’ best-known works offer a playful twist on the conventions of pulp fiction cover art, accompanied by words from the world’s greatest poets, cynics and wits. These satirical juxtapositions of cliché and brilliance strike a chord with the modern age. Thought provoking and ironic, they invite us to think about the difference between appearance and reality, between what we see, what we think we see, and what we want to see.
