Collection: Amelia Humber
Amelia Humber is a British landscape artist whose atmospheric paintings explore memory, emotion and our connection to the natural world. Working from her London studio, she draws inspiration from Britain's wild landscapes, from the rugged Cornish coast to the Scottish Highlands.
Growing up in rural Sussex and later studying at Falmouth College of Arts, Amelia developed a deep appreciation for the ever-changing landscape and its ability to evoke emotion.
Working from sketches, photographs and memory, she builds expressive compositions through layers of oil paint, pastel and graphite. Rather than depicting a place exactly, she seeks to capture its atmosphere, shifting light and emotional resonance.
Influenced by artists including J.M.W. Turner and Len Tabner, her work combines expressive mark-making with an intuitive use of colour. Increasingly abstract, her paintings reflect the fleeting beauty of the natural world and invite viewers to pause, reflect and reconnect with nature.
