Playfully irreverent and brilliantly subversive, David Shrigley has built a career out of making the ordinary feel extraordinary. Born in 1968 in Macclesfield, England, Shrigley is best known for his deceptively simple line drawings, deadpan text, and offbeat sculptures that celebrate the awkward, the mundane, and the absurd. 

His drawings—often paired with blunt, humorous captions—cut through pretense, confronting life’s oddities and contradictions with honesty and humor. Whether it’s a stick figure declaring an existential truth or a sculpture of a giant thumb, his art disarms viewers with its simplicity before leaving them with something deeper to reflect on.
