About the artist
Jennine Parker, born in Wolverhampton in 1971, embarked on a creative journey that seamlessly blends her background in graphic design with her passion for sculpting and painting. After studying art and design, she specialized in graphic design, enjoying a successful career in branding and marketing for 20 years. However, her love for ceramics led her to further studies in sculpting, where she discovered a profound sense of fulfillment in creating inspiring forms that evoke emotion. Transitioning to freelance graphic design enabled her to pursue her artistic passions fully, establishing her own studio in rural Kenilworth.
Art style
Jennine's artistry spans sculpting and painting, with a focus on the human form and the exploration of movement, shape, and lines. Influenced by artists like Alberto Giacometti, Rodin, and Barbara Hepworth, she seeks to capture the essence of life and personality in her work. Through life drawing and observation, she honours the human figure, infusing her sculptures with vitality and allowing viewers to empathize and connect with her creations. Drawing inspiration from nature, she incorporates textured finishes into her pieces, often working with clay but also experimenting with wax and plaster to achieve different dynamics.
