Gilbert & George are one of the most iconic and provocative duos in contemporary art. Since meeting at Saint Martin’s School of Art in 1967, the pair—Italian-born Gilbert Prousch and British-born George Passmore—have worked together as “living sculptures,” blurring the line between art and everyday life.

Known for their bold, graphic, and often controversial works, they tackle themes like identity, belief, sexuality, and urban culture with unmistakable style and fearlessness. Winners of the 1986 Turner Prize, their art has been exhibited worldwide and continues to challenge, confront, and captivate audiences.

Still based in London’s East End, Gilbert & George remain dedicated to making art that is direct, democratic, and impossible to ignore.
