“This is my life...my story, my book. I will no longer let anyone else write it”.
‘Stony’ is the alias of artist Antonio Russo, born in England in 1965 to Sicilian parents. Despite his colour-blindness, he began painting and drawing at a young age as a tool to express himself due to struggling with dyslexia and autism.
In addition to racing cards and opening a chain of eight successful restaurants, Stony founded his own record label, ‘Loony Records’, and worked with a range of high-profile artists including Kanye West, Usher and Eliza Doolittle.
Stony’s work is tied to urban and street art, featuring his own personal mantras and abstract style. He was also heavily inspired by his battle with cancer, and sadly passed away due to a brain tumour in June 2022.
His work has been exhibited all over the world, including in Miami, New York, ‘The Louvre’ and Dubai.
